Christmas Day 2010 @ CWS - No Snow but Lowest Temperature
Christmas Day morning brought clear blue skies and the lowest temperature recorded at Chester Weather Station since we started 3 years ago.
At 6:07am the temperature dropped to -12.9°C at CWS beating the previous low of -12°C on 8/1/2010. Hawarden Airport recorded -13.6°C this morning.
No Snow fell at CWS, so well done to all those who voted "No" in our Christmas Day Snow Poll.
From the Met Office:
Using technology such as radar, webcams and ground based sensors combined with the expert opinion of experienced forecasters, the Met Office is able to declare whether or not (YES or NO) snow fell at the following locations on Christmas Day 2010:-
Aberdeen: YES. Glasgow: YES. Edinburgh: YES. London: NO. Liverpool: NO. Manchester: NO. Birmingham: NO. Cardiff: NO. Belfast: NO.{jcomments on}

Woodmouse
Pictures of a woodmouse taken early morning in August 09 in a garden backing on to Westminster Park. It is not unknown for woodmice to raid feeders but this one must have been very hungry. To get to the feeder which is 6 feet off the ground it had to climb a 8 feet pole and then scramble down a supporting wire. This one stayed put whilst I took these shots and was still eating when I went away. Woodmice are common in gardens around the Park.
